Her music is a cohesive blend of alternative groove-rock, gypsy jazz, and soul, with a little flavor from the saltshaker of a European cafe.  Since beginning her music career, Annelise LeCheminant has been described as “enchanting,” “refreshing,” and “engaging” as she captivates audiences with her soulful, venturesome sound. This singer/songwriter/guitarist is a musician audiences simply can’t ignore. She skillfully applies creativity and artistry to her music, developing a sound that is reminiscent of a well-stamped passport, having visited many genres and brought them home.

Annelise started her musical training at the ripe old age of four on the violin and then later moved to piano for several years. It wasn’t until 1999 that she discovered her love for the guitar when she began teaching herself to play. One year later, she took a 1600-mile leap of faith to Nashville, despite the fact that she’s anything but country, to refine her vocal talents with coach Brett Manning.  Within a few months she was playing open mics and writers’ rounds. For the next seven years, Annelise fine-tuned her performing skills while penning new songs. In the fall of 2003, she began recording her debut album, You Never Know, with producer Matt Wilder, on self-owned label, MoxyShop Records.  Annelise released her first record in August 2004, with several “A-list” Nashville players adding their talents to the project.  She then began sharing the stage with them, holding her own as a guitarist and singer.

In 2006 Annelise released Christmas, an EP full of tasty arrangements of traditional Christmas carols. Selections from Christmas are played on multiple radio stations each Christmas season throughout the country.  Her second full length original album, Driven, where she has incorporated binaural or 3-D audio technology, released in January of 2009, shortly after moving back to the West Coast.

Annelise has performed in numerous venues and events throughout the country, including opening for a Lee Greenwood Fourth of July Celebration at the four-diamond Mountain View Grand Resort and Spa in Whitefield, NH in '06. She performed on four stages at the 2002 Winter Olympics Downtown Festival in Salt Lake City, was the feature artist at the Wilkes County United Way Benefit Concert in North Carolina in 2005, was the chosen vocalist to sing the National Anthem at the Nashville Boy Scouts of America Fundraising Gala for two years.  She has also been a featured act on the stage of the world famous Wildhorse Saloon as well as the Opryland Hotel. She has performed live on television, radio stations, internet broadcasts as well as for many charity events. Along with producer Matt Wilder, Annelise created, hosted, and performed in a monthly showcase called The Wilder Side of Nashville, dedicated to helping non-country independent artists and bands in Nashville.

After seven years in Nashville LeCheminant packed up and moved to sunny Los Angeles where she hit the ground running playing throughout California, Nevada and Utah for private & corporate parties including Microsoft, Santa Monica Windjammers Yacht Club.  She also graced the stage of some of L.A.’s most popular venues such as Ghengis Cohen & Room 5.

After the release of You Never Know in 2004, Annelise was voted “‘Best of Davis County’ Gifts for Music Connoisseurs” in her hometown newspaper, The Clipper. In September 2006, her song “Disconnected” was made part of an installation at the Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum in Salt Lake City, Utah, where children could interact with the song by mixing and recording.  The instrumental track for “Mirror Mirror” was used in a radio spot for the National Rugby Championships held in Salt Lake City, UT.

Along with writing and recording original material, Annelise has sung lead and background vocals for various bands and artists, including some work with Ray Davies of The Kinks. She is an accomplished studio vocalist and has worked as a demo singer in Nashville. Critics praise her vocals on Colette Call’s award-winning release Power in His Touch (www.colettecall.com). Annelise also sang background vocals on Rebekah Law’s debut album, Home at Last (www.rebekahlaw.com).

Annelise has proven that there is still new music to be made. Listeners rave at the depth and creativity of her lyrics and the honest, sincere delivery of them. Artists and musicians who have worked with Annelise describe her vocal and writing abilities with the highest of praise. “People stop their conversations to listen to her,” says vocal coach and songwriter Brett Manning. He adds, “She captures the attention of her audience with her voice, style, and stage presence. Her lyrics and melodies are creative and artistic.” Steve Brewster, a nationally recognized studio drummer, says, “Annelise, you need to keep doing what you’re doing, because this is what music needs.” Fans describe her voice as soothing and easy to listen to as she takes a sincere approach to her performances, kicking off her shoes and connecting with her audiences.

Currently Annelise resides in the San Francisco/Bay Area. When she is not playing music, she enjoys spending time with her most prized possession—her family. In her spare time she enjoys camping, hiking, rollerblading, running, river rafting, cooking, graphic design and photography. Put a camera in her hands and she is just as happy as she is with a guitar.
